Shield loop & library of electrical symbols

How can I create a shield loop, e.g. twisted pair with shield, so I can show its one end while other end tied to a grounding symbol? Using two arcs put together ain’t going to work. I already thought of this.

KiCad has no feature to create ellipticals. Not only that, an elliptical that can be stretchable to manipulate size by its height and width.

My other question is this: do we have any library of edible standard electrical symbols? More generic kind found in AutoCAD Electrical or Microstation. If we do, where can I download them?

I’m not sure symbols provide much nourishment for your body.

Various libraries of symbols for KiCad are publicly available. Github and Gitlab would be places to do a search.

You might also consider that KiCad may not be the best choice for creating electrical diagrams. It’s oriented towards making PCBs. Various diagramming tools have been mentioned in previous topics.

Two arc segments may not work, but 4 arcs or 2 bezier curves can be passable imo.

Not easily editable, but if I was doing this I’d make a library with standard loops sized for certain number of conductors.

This is how I indicate Shield’s in Wire… (the meshed rectangle). Usually, I put it on the Outer side but, not always, especially if there’s going to be wire inside of the enclosure…

Thank you all!

To retiredfeline: It has been established that KiCad would be the tool to show our sheets all as schematics with use of child sheets. No PCBs will be involved.

To halachal: Appreciated the suggestions. The upper left is a more realistic shape. I don’t know about having a library to contain many loop sizes. It’ll be hard to keep my certain number of conductors held to fixed line rows. But bear this in mind as I encounter new situations.

To BlackCoffee: Interesting. Reminds me of shield wire actually being a physically a briad.
