Sheet properties of hierarchical sheets don't propagate to title block?

Following the comments discussed in an old thread

If I add a sheet property, can’t it be referred in the title block?
I used the example in the above link and tried to add a property named NUM, then I referred to it successfully in the sheets, but recalling “${NUM}” in the title block yields the text without substitution.
Am I missing anything?

I don’t think you are missing anything. This just hasn’t been implemented. You can add a wish to the gitlab issue database. Or maybe @JeffYoung can comment.
