Having 50 mills grid marks visually confirm that foot prints are at 50 mills marks-this is very good! However, having 10 mills snaps, between 50 mills dots/lines/cross would allow to move text and wires more precisely. Otherwise, text and wires are snapping to 50 mills marks. Therefore, I need to change Grid size to 10 mills for more precision placement. It becomes confusing not seeing foot prints at 50 mills Grid. Am I missing something?

With my first schematic I had exactly the same problem and exactly the same solution - all the time changing from 10 to 50 mils.
Use Ctrl+Shift while moving values and references.
To avoid continuous moving your hand from M to Ctrl+Shift you can reach M by right-click. I don’t know if there is a simpler way.
