Selecting multiple footprint files in the Manage Footprint Libraries window

Hello all KiCaD fans,

I am on Ubuntu21.04.1 and I migrated form V5.1 to V6.0. I have discovered an unpleasant behavior in the Manage Footprint Library window. From V5.1 I was used to add multiple footprint library files at the same time. Now, in V6.0 I am forced to add file by file and that is quite time consuming because of large number of footprint files. I am not able to select more files using Ctrl or Shift keys.

Am I missing something? Can you please give me some advise?

No. bulk-adding (or deleting) multiple libraries is currently not available. You can upvote the feature-request at gitlab: Batch adding of footprint libraries (#10992) · Issues · KiCad / KiCad Source Code / kicad · GitLab

OK. Thank you very much for a fast reply!
Best regards, Ondrej.

Not sure if my experience is relevant, but I had to edit my *libtable files inside %appdata% (windows folder where kicad v5 and v6 keeps app configuration files) folder with text editor when migrating from v5 to v6 at some point. It was only needed to search and replace thousands(?) of absolute paths strings to kicad environment variables (kicad6_fp_dir or something like that). Also, this way I transfered hotkey config from v5 to v6 (90% mach of features anywhay). It was very easy and quick. Done that maybe year ago with v5.99 (nightly), not with v6.0 actually, so this is not so information cannot be si precice, I do not have v5 also too long time ago). But remember to zip config folders for backup when editing something there.

Alternatively, you can just open the relevant fp-lib-table file in a text editor and add them there as simple text lines.
