Select more than one footprint without rectangle

Hi,
i want for example move this group of footprints. Is there a possibility to select them without a rectangle?
Problem on rectangle is that very often the wrong parts get selected and moved.

Best regards
Fabian

There are two ways of selecting with rectangle, starting from the left and finishing in the right or starting on the right and finishing in the left.

One of them select all the parts partially inside of the rectangle, so if you make a small rectangle around the “0” touching those three capacitors, they will be selected.

The other one select all the parts completely inside of the rectangle, so if you surround all capacitors, they will be selected (useful for when they are inside of the area of a bigger part).

Hope this helps

Of course, you can also use SHIFT+Click to select the three components and then press “M” to move them

EDIT (with pictures):
Left to right (yellow selection rectangle)

Right to left (blue selection rectangle)

To add to what der.ule said: You can keep SHIFT pressed and draw several selection boxes. Each new selection is added to the old one.

Waauw!!!
Holding the shift key works for adding to “complex selections”.
This has long been missing in KiCad.

Also, if you make a selectrion, and then right click on it you get a context menu, and then under: Select / Filter selection:

there is a window with sections of what sort of items you want to select in your selection:
