Select a different part

I did some searching but found nothing with the search criteria I thought up…

Is there a way to change the part (and therefore the schematic symbol) after another part was selected and wired.

I’m guessing, if the pins happen to be the same this is possible?

If the pins aren’t the same, the only way is to delete the existing part add the new and rewire.

(In the case I’m looking at, I’ve gone from a 4 device 16 pin comparator to a single a single device 5 pin device…I’m guessing that falls into the later case mentioned above.)

Sure, just change it (and rewire if necessary) then update the PCB. Then you’ll have to redo the affected traces.
