today I had one of those days when you wake up (brush your teeth), make yourself a cup of coffee, turn your computer on, click on KiCad to work on your project which is close to being finished and … Error.
Firstly, I get the following message: “The entire schematics could not be loaded. Errors occurred attempting to load hierarchical sheets”. It follows by the links to the child sheets it cannot open.
While trying to analyze what could be the issue I tried to open my schematics in Notepad++. And it seems that the content of all “child sheets” in the hierarchy is changed to “NUL”:
however my main schematics sheet “parent sheet” opens without issues. It contains all the links to the “child sheets” but obviously it cannot open them due to some kind of corruption, hence the “NUL”. (my guess…)
Does anyone know what could be the issue and if there is any way to restore the files?
Yesterdays files in the backup are corrupt as well… only the files from the day before yesterday are ok. It is a day of work which is a bit annoying. I have not idea what could be the culprit of this file corruption since I shut down the KiCAD, as well as PC, properly without any issues.
