As far as I’ve understood, putting a copper track through the gap is not possible because we don’t have enough space for this. So the best would be to open the two lobes a bit more to keep the minimum distance, what should be the lower value of minimum trace width and copper-to-copper clearance.
Besides the GHZ-antenna discussion, the main problem is that the filling algorithm generates structures that do not meet the design requirements. If someone is desigining a PCB for the GHz band, he should be very careful to use the filling algorithm anyway - so I don’t think that this is the main use.
The problem is that the setting for the minimum space is ignored.
