For a long time, the SamacSys (componentsearchengine.com) plugin was used in work, unfortunately, it supports only old versions of v5 libraries and has not been updated for kicad for a long time… Finding alternatives led me to GitHub - sparkmicro/Ki-nTree: Fast part creation in KiCad and InvenTree but adding SamacSys requires some data to develop… My requests to the SamacSys manufacturer did not give a result (silence) required API for development. What are the ideas?
Libraries v5 still work in KiCad v6. You can edit footprints and save as own footprint in your own library. That will automatically convert it to v6 format.
Unfortunately, it does not automatically convert everything you have to do with your hands), including deleting old files after conversion
