I’m about to submit a merge request for the well-known
Digitast SPDT switches from C&K (aka ITT Shadow or the very similar chinese clone PB86-Ax):
Before submitting I’d like to get some comments about the design alternatives
of the F.Fab layer (meant for documentation purposes).
Let’s start with the design in the datasheet first as a reference:
Now the result for the SER2L variant with all layers active:
(The design for the LED holes was just taken from an already existing LED design
in the KiCad library):
The same without drills and pads to get a clearer picture:
Please note that the button is slightly smaller than the body of the button!
And now the suggestions I have for the F.Fab layer:
Draft 1: (Still the same part - now without silkscreen for easier comparison):
Draft 2: SERL variant with dotted lines for the relevant (upper; movable) button part
and solid lines for the larger body below:
Draft 3: SER variant with dotted lines for the whole button part and solid lines for the body:
Any opinions or bias for one of the three variants?
My personal favorite is the last variant and also dotted lines for the LED hole(s).
That means: Dotted lines for all edges on the upper border of the button and only the body outline solid.
PS: If you don’t see the difference between Draft 2 + 3 here are the zones:
