I have a question, is it possible to decrease the size of the crosshair cursor both in schematic design and PCB layout? Perhaps this crosshair can be disabled? Currently, it seems too large to me.
There are settings in: … / Preferences / Preferences / Schematic Editor / Display Options, but you can only choose between Small crosshairs and Full window crosshairs. So there is no option to make it smaller. Personally I also like it when I can see the mouse cursor 
Maybe turning off the the Always show crosshairs is more to your liking. Each of KiCad’s sub programs has these settings, so you’ll have to set them all, or use different settings for different KiCad parts.
