Re-annotate a schematic after laying out the pcb? Frward changes?

Hi,
I made a schematic, then laid out the pcb.
Now after numerous changes the annotation of the schematic was not logical. So I re-annotated the SCH and forwarded the changes to PCBNEW. I am guessing KiCAD uses the ref as the association and not some sort of key in case the reference changes… because now the board is a mess.

Any recommendation on how to go about it updating annotation of SCH and forwarding the changes to a PCB?

Kind Regards

When you load the netlist again in PCBnew, there is an option to use timestamps instead of references…

Annotate by timestamp? I think this was discussed on here not too long ago.

Hey! Completely changing your post like that… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wow Thanks Joan and Madworm for the speedy replies!!
Yes perfect, that is a brilliant feature! Well done to the KiCAD team!

(PS I did do a search but I didn’t come across the timestamp feature… maybe the next guy which words it the way I did will find my post
