I have a schematic created in V7. I just upgraded to V8 and maybe I missed something in the upgrade. Everything that I have tried so far seems to work except: I have an object pin to connect to a wire. When I draw a wire from object pin to wire everything is fine EXCEPT no junction is placed on the wire. There is a square wire end box on top of the existing wire, but no junction symbol. The wire attaches to the object pin OK. I cannot manually place a junction at that point. If I delete an existing junction, I cannot replace it either. The junction will not attach to the point. I have snap to grid turned off because it would only snap to the grid in 5 dots/step and I don’t know how to shrink that to allow snap to any dot. But even if the existing wire was at the snap point, it still won’t insert a junction.
How do I fix this?
The square box at the end of the wire indicates the wire is not connected. This is due to one of the wires being on a different grid to the other. This may be due to to an incorrect placing of a symbol or something went amiss with the translation from 7 to 8, or the grid was inadvertently changed.
To solve the problem, make sure you have the page set to 50 mil., select the whole schematic drawing with a left to right mouse “box” selection then right mouse click and apply “Align Items to Grid” from the newly opened menu.
thank you, that worked.
