Printing Schematics: images are not printed

I’m approaching the printing of the schematics with the version 6.0.1 for the first time.

On the schematics, I have the logos imported from PNG.
The problem is: they are not printed.

Do you have the same issue?

EDIT: I tried PNG, GIF, JPG
With PLOT exporting to PDF: it works
With PRINT trying to print on printer: it doesn’t

Think this is a known bug which has now been fixed. Not sure if there might be a 6.0.2 update or if this might have to wait until 7.0 is released.

Hopefully ASAP. Since I need to give the schematics and they need the logo on it. I will wait for some day

I have just found the same bug, Hopefully will be fixed before v7 as need to have company logo on issued schematics.

Not tried yet V6, but seems still same issue reading this post…

Is it limited only to transparent png/gif images ?

    • Have you tried to ‘plot’ in pdf format (instead of ‘to print’ it),
    • tried to replace your ‘png logo’ image by using a ‘not transparent’ one ?
    • Have copyright and licence text type included in doc sheets (even if a neat ‘logo printed on paper’ or in pdf file is an expected nice-to-get).

Notes:

  • It works well under V5.1.08-1 only with ‘plot in a pdf file’.
  • ‘print’ is still buggy when viewing the pdf file…

The fix will be in 6.0.2

Indeed. From an opened issue to “Fix committed” within a day, which is quite common for “simple bugs”.
I’ve seen bugs being squashed in 26 minutes.

1 - Yes no change
2 - my image is a jpg

Looks like it is sorted for 6.0.2  so hopefully not too long for update.

Please try to get your version numbers correct.
KiCad version numbers have two dots and those are important.

The second number generally changes when new functionality is added, for example cherry picked parts from the development branch. Changes in the third number are bug fixes and it should be safe to update because they do not introduce new functionality.

Sorry, edited for correctness

Yeah, but when you do that, the following comments don’t make sense. Better to write ‘EDITED’ and add a correction at the end.

I edited my message adding some detail more. Hopefully the 6.0.2 will be available soon
