Until now (past three years), I’ve only used the schematic functionality of KiCAD.
Two days ago, I started on the PCB side. (I’m not a newcomer to PCB design, just to KiCAD).
All fine, until I came to the footprints in the symbols (I only use personal libraries).
Editing the properties of every symbol (200+) to add a footprint was really unappetizing.
And then I found the “Tools” → “Edit Symbol Fields…” menu.
Brilliant! The task was done in 5% of the time, just finding the footprints and using copy/paste as appropriate.
I pass this as a tip.
Thanks, KiCAD Team.
