If I did not oversee something, polarized radial capacitors only have diameter and pitch but no length (non polarized have!)
Now I have a three dimensional design and would like to see if the height fits into my box. Is there another way to specify the length or why is this so?
I could set the 3d model to one of the non polarized types but this ain’t nice.
Ran into the same issue. One solution is to make your own 3d models.
Alternatively a parameterization of x, y, z (then some) by way of a script would do.
Actually, it seems that the name of the footprints files related to these capacitors don’t even follow the KLC. The fun part being the example given in https://kicad.org/libraries/klc/F2.2/ (“CP_Radial_D4.5mm_P2.5mm_H10mm”), while none of the CP Radial footprints (and thus 3D models) has an H parameter. I guess it’s an oversight from the librarians.
