Coincidentally, I suspect connected, I have this error poping up now, when going into Preferences after opening KiCad, probably since installing the most recent nightly (8.99.0.1896)
I’m going to install V 8.0.4 and expect this to fix my issue, I’ll report back shortly.
I suspect the Nightlies have a different dependency and load a different version of the _pl_editor.dll that is not compatible with V8.x.x, installing 8.0.4 reinstalls the original DLL and I can be happy again.
I’ll raise a bug report in due course . . . I just wanted to put this up here for others to find if they have the same issue.
Not a bug. You had a corrupt install for some reason. Concurrent version installs on windows are fully supported and functional as long as they install into separate folders. So the nightly _pl_editor.dll has zero impact on the 8.0 which has its own unique copy.
