Performance issue with connected bus (5.1.8)

I’ve just upgraded to 5.1.8 (5.1.8-10_14) on OSX (and unfortunately I’ve also just upgraded to Big Sur, not sure which one of those triggered this!)

If I have a bus (with connections) in my schematic performance drops off a cliff … adding a new wire anywhere (even unconnected) pauses for around a second to complete, and sometimes causes the OSX beachball to appear which never used to happen.

If I drag the bus away from the connections then everything goes back to super snappy … if I move it back it slows down again.

It seems to be proportional to the number of bus connections.

I’m also seeing slow performance when deleting lots of objects … I can almost see them go one by one, and similarly if I undo that I see them re-appear one-by-one. This doesn’t seem to be related to whether there is a bus in the schematic??

Nothing else is going on on the Mac, I’ve closed everything else, rebooted etc. All used to be fine prior to my updates. Nothing showing on activity monitor or top. I will see if I can reproduce on a Linux VM if I get time today.

EDIT: checked on Linux and all seems fine there, so I’m guessing it’s most likely a Big Sur related problem.
