after some months i come back to kicad, before i use 5.1.0, and now updated to 5.99.0
is all ok, but i not see on pcbnew, menu preference->traditional instrument (F9),
now there are only accelerated graphic (F11) or standard (F12)
i not like to see the board like this
is possible to restore the old mode (F9)? i’m more productive with the old mode
Two points - the 5.99 version is the development version and not really meant for production - it may not be stable, might introduce format changes and generally not be backwards compatible with the 5.1.x series. You might be better using 5.1.5 (or the nightly version that will become 5.1.6)
The F9 display was termed the ‘Legacy’ canvas and was based on XOR the layer stack but has now been superseded by the modern, accelerated F11 openGL based canvas. There have been complaints about the way this works but probably the deficiency is the way the default opacity settings have been set. You might find that the canvas is more like what you are used to if you reduce the opacity settings of the relevant layers to around 75-80%. I have never particularly got on with the default colour scheme either and there are some alternatives here which you might find are more balanced.

John’s right. 5.99 might not be best suited for new/inexperienced users.
Use official 5.1.5, or even better Pre-5.1.6 as it fixes some 5.1.x annoyiances.
Now to the canvas: Some time ago I also preferred the “Legacy” canvas. But KiCad’s devlopment path is clear to migrate to Modern canvas (F11/F12 modes). So try to make yourself comfortable with the new workflow.
One of the things I initially missed most with the “Modern” toolset was the visibility of the lower layers (as you say you don’t like what you see). This can be easily mitigated by setting transparency for layers (middle click on the layer color, slide down the Opacity slider).
Then change habits for few keyboard shortcuts and you won’t need to look back.

but i think at the moment i stay on 5.1.0, i tried little the new version, but anyway i prefer the old,
also the {} shortcut to change opacity on my keyboard are no confort (i use italian keyboard, wich not have these character, for american keyboard is completly differrent)
5.99 was a step to wrong direction, but 5.1.5 is 5.1.0 with many bugs fixed (and some introduced). The pre 5.1.6 is 5.1.5 with some bugs fixed. I planned to switch from 5.1.5 to 5.1.6 when it will be released, but because of one important for me bug I switched recently to pre 5.1.6.
hotkeys can be changed
