Pcbnew/Design Rule

Hello Sirs,

My name is Dragos, and I am beginner in using this program KiCAD 5.1.5
I have a problem.In Pcbnew/Board Setup/Design Rule,does not appear column Diameters,like in the next link.
I will attach a picture and the link below.

Thank you for understanding,
Dragos.

Hello Dragos,

I suppose you think of via diameter for example at 7:06 in the video?

If so, that should correspond to “via size” in the screenshot you posted.

I guess the video was made with KiCad 5.0. There were some User Interface changes between 5.0 and 5.1.

5.1 was a major GUI redesign. A 5.0 tutorial is basically useless to anyone working with 5.1

Thanks guys for answers.I still have a problem, where a place the symbol “GND” on the space of working ,in Eschema, show still a name GND,near symbol.I will attach a picture below.

I’m not sure if you are asking about the green GND or gray GND.
I was surprised seeing that gray I have never noticed it. After short investigation I found in Preferences Display Options the ‘Show hidden pins’ flag. You have to set it on yourself. I have a clear KiCad instalation with default settings and it is off.

By the way. Recently because some bugs in 5.1.5 I moved to pre 5.1.6. As I suppose shortly (2…3 weeks) you can expect final 5.1.6 will be ready.

I have wanted to refer at both.

I am using GND symbol with only the horizontal line (not that triangle), and place the (only green) GND text just under that line. If you think that the GND text should be hidden - you are wrong. It is common to have different grounds at schematic and it should be clear which ground is here (I use the same graphic symbol for analog and digital GND).
Advice 1: Instead of changing grid try pressing Ctrl+Shift while moving the GND text.

Attention - in Power symbols the real what they are connected to is the pad and not the symbol name (don’t checking it now, but that means that gray GND is more important that green GND). When copying the power symbol to your library (I use only symbols from my library) and you change only the symbol name than you will be surprised seeing KiCad made different connections than you see at schematic.
Advice 2: Be sure to have both names the same.

Advices are to let you avoid problems I was hit by.

Edit:
One more thing. Thank you for like - it is 200 I got here and I’m happy with this small jubilee

Thank you for this feedback.

Hello, GND (or more correctly “return”) symbols are defined in IEEE 315 and IEC 60617. There are three GND symbols that do not need the word “GND” used with them.
The following is from IEEE 315 but is also found in IEC 60617:

And this is from IEEE 315, which again will be found in IEC 60617:

And the following is from IEEE 315, but I have not found it in IEC 60617:

For use of these GND symbols I refer you to ANSI/ASME Y14.44, Figure 3:
