PCBnew crashes on CadStar import

I have a ton of designs in CadStar (V16) and I would like to convert several of those into KiCad.

Yesterday, I saved a simple PCB to .csa and tried to import it into pcbnew (7.0 on Windows 10), but immediately after the layer mapping step, it crashed.
This morning, I tried the same on my work laptop (Windows11 and both KiCad 7 and 8) and got the exact same result.

According to the log, the exception was 0xc0000005

I did verify the .csa by loading it into CadStar’s Designviewer and that loads without problem.

Make sure you are using the final 7.0 release of 7.0.11.

Other than that, if you have a design you can share, and can reproduce the same on 8.0.1, a bug report filing would be appreciated.

My 7.0 release is 7.0.8. Just upgraded to 8.0.1 from 8.0.0, but the problem remains.

I will file a bug report.
