I added a series of non-plated through drill holes to create and area of the board that could be broken out. But, when I went to save, Kicad crashed. Now I can’t reopen the design. Is my design gone? Or is there something I can edit to remove the new part and maybe get things back?
I see and autosave"my design name"_pcb. Is it possible to recover this file?
I keep answering my own questions. I renamed the autosave and the design is back. Whew!
Now, how can I put a series of non-plated holes to create an area that can be more easily removed?
What version? If it happens repeatedly with a recent version, please file a bug.
Adding a bunch of NPTH is nothing special, it should work.
I’m using 2014-08-05 BZR 5054.
I’m part of a group using the same version, so I can’t upgrade without getting consensus from the others.
The versions from roughly 5000 to the recent ones are file-compatible, there shouldn’t be any issues mixing versions.
I routinely share projects between 5025 and 5316 with no issues whatsoever.
