Page setup in the schematic

How do I get to put a new default size, as the current size, A4, doesn’t seem to be big enough on start up

I want to put A0 as the default size

There is no default size. You have to set the size for each schematic. In fact you can even set the size for each hierarchical sheet.

A0, 1m^2 of paper, really? :astonished:

Pretty sure that templates have a size set, so if you make your own template (or edit one of the existing templates) and set A0 or whatever size you like, then recall it each time you start a new project, then you will have your default size.
This is useful also for your fab house capabilities (min trace width, via size, etc), your default title block on the schematic and PCB page template and probably for many other things.

PS. And I agree - A0 is an overkill. Perhaps read how to use hierarchical sheets.

File → Page settings → Size will get you there. I find that using A3 for the schematic, but printing to A4 is still very easy to read.

Not only is A0 1m² but it is also 8 16 x A4 size.

Its not likely to be printed, right?

I don’t know how to get hierarchical sheets
Just found out actually

The point is it’s an awful lot of space with pin spacing typically 50 or 100 mils so you would have a very large schematic to work on.

I think you’ll find that An is 1/(2^n) of A0.

I know what you mean, but at the moment, but I’m not worried with prototyping atm

My brain somehow stopped at A1. Must be age related. Corrections made, thanks.
