Pads keep popping up in context menu in Pcbnew

Is there a way to prevent pads from showing up in Pcbnew “Clarify Selection” menus? For example, I have a single pin power connector (image below). I don’t want this option for two reasons - I don’t want behavior to accidentally move a pad independently from the footprint (doesn’t now, but that’s what it implies), and I only want to see the “Clarify” menu when its necessary.

Can this behavior be turned off or disabled?

Don’t ‘shoot’ at the pads… shoot ‘adjacent’… sometimes it helps.
Besides, if you select the pad, the footprint will move all together (if you used [M], for [E] the dialog will indeed modify the pad instead of the footprint).
So for moving it doesn’t really matter what you grab - tested in BZR6097.

As for an option to filter the context menu… might be a wishlist thing that you should communicate with the devs?

Also, your context menu is missing the little helpful icons. Is that just due to the screenshot or are they really not there?
See for comparison:

It would be great to have a selection filter manager. See image from Orcad.

The icons are not present in OpenGL mode on stable 4.0, I see them in Default.

As I said, communicate that to the devs… link is up there, as otherwise you’ll be dreaming forever.

It must be better to consolidate the wish before its posted onto the site.
There is no reason multiple almost similar wished are made.

If no one have a issue with the feature I mention I can post it to the site.

consolidation is made there… you essentially file a bug report and tag it as wish (with ‘wishlist’). There is space and ability for anyone who registers to chime in and lend support, give examples to help explain why it is needed, etc… at the top left there is a button where supporters can sign that they also like the idea.
Can’t make it any more comfortable I think.

PS: I’m all for more customization.

Please do and post a link to it in this thread so others could add their votes
