Overlapping Objects : Rendering Hierarchy (Foreground/Background Priority)

For overlapping items (particularly those with fill), how can a user bring an object further forward or backward in the rendering hierarchy?

The hierarchy appears to be inaccessible, and recalculated with new objects:

It is not possible at the moment. Overlapping objects need to be avoided unfortunately.

There is an open issue around z-order for eeschema

Not sure if that meets your needs. I am not aware of something similar for pcbnew and I doubt it would make sense there.

It’s a matter of heart to me. When I first brought that up some two years ago, they turned me down, saying “This is no art editor” …
