Overhanging USB port footprint

A lot of modules like a typical TP4056 charging module have the USB port standing out 1-2 mm of the board dimensions. How can I design the board in this way? Normally I immediately get an error when the footprint of the USB connector doesn’t fit in my EDGE Cut board outline lines.

Add the DRC error to exceptions or ignore it. Most PCB design software that I tried has the same problem and no elegant solution.

OK, thanks. I also tried to change the footprint which seems to work as well.

I recently had this problem with a potentiometer that gave a lot of errors and they also have to hang over the edge of the board so I went to edit, and took out some silkscreen and the courtyard of the footprint and all was well and I didn’t have to ignore them and kept the ‘Pot’ footprint in my own libary.
