[OT] How to clean Stencil after use?

Hi !

I know it’s a bit off-topic, but I can’t find any reply to my case.

I recently used a steel stencil (designed with KiCad) to dispense solder paste on several (small) panels and assembled them, but I now want to clean it before storing for a future use.

Can you recommend a way to clean it properly ? There are some solder paste residues inside the holes thickness, and cleaning them individually with a toothpick or other sounds really tedious !

Any hint please ?

IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) and old cloth.

I only just recently used my first stainless steel stencil, and using the recommended cleaning with alcohol seemed to work pretty well, as it did on the Mylar before it. The important thing is to not delay cleaning but do it right away before the solder paste has time to dry out.

If you do this often you also might want to get an ultra sonic bath that can handle the size of your boards.
And once you got that, and things got really sticky you can put them in there.

Thanks for all your valuable replies :+1:
