Hello. I have a few old circuit board designs that are all .pcb files. How can I open and edit them in KiCAD please? I am very new to KiCAD and would appreciate your help. Thank you and regards, Wayne
Kicad layout files have the extension .brd (very old) and .kicad_pcb.
Your files could be Eagle files. Not every version of Eagle can be opened with Kicad.
Make a search of Eagle files in this forum.
no. eagle uses the brd file extension. I am not sure what kicad used in the past but it might be that you have these two confused.
Yes you are right. The extension .brd is Eagle and Kicad old format too.
I tried using Eagle to open them but that only recognized .brd files. I know Protel will open these .pcb files but it costs a fortune.
