"Not" symbol (e.g. ~{Q}) nearly invisible - UI "bug"?

Hey everyone,

I’m not sure if this is new with KiCad 7 but I’d like to point out to the community and devs, that the “not” symbol, for example like this one:

… is nearly invisible in a global label when using with capital letters. This seems to be regardless of the label (text) size or the letter that gets the not-sign.

I’m not really sure what to do with this. Shall I open a bug? Am I overly picky? What do you think? Or am I overseeing anything?

Agree.
Also, the not-sign is in the same position for lower case letters.

I suppose the only solution is to make the height of the label either lower or higher, so the not is either inside or outside the label.
My preference would be inside the label

You can adjust the global label margin in Schematic Setup → General → Formatting → Text. Making it bigger gives you more clearance to make the overbars more visible, but you can’t stack the global labels on a 100mil grid anymore, so there’s a tradeoff…

Oh, cool! Well at least that is a possibility to deal with it. I did not know there is a setting for it, that’s at least something. But you are right, if one increases the margin to make the “not” visible, the labels don’t stack anymore but I have to say that I more often need the “not” symbol to be visible than I need to stack labels, so…
