Not able to use variables in Drawing Sheet Editor

Hi,
Using v6.0.7 I am not able to use custom variables as shown in this post:

Custom Text fields on sheet/sheet border

In 5.99 (the unstable development version, nightly builds) it’s possible to use text replacement variables. [image] [image] [image] These variables are a more generic mechanism, see New string replacement options for kicad assets. The page layout comments may be seen as legacy. But this doesn’t work in the current stable version.

System variables however show nicely as expected when the sheet is opened in schematic editor.

Drawing Sheet Editor:

It’s a bit messy because I only left room for initials, but the text fields are
Drawn by:${DRAWN)
Engineering:${ENGINEERING)
Production:${PRODUCTION)
Approved:${APPROVED)

Schematic editor:

You can see from above paste that only system variables are substituted with values but the custom ones are not.

Now I got it to work! I have no idea what I did differently. I tried to see if lower capital letters had to be used for user variables, then it worked. Then I tried capitalized letters again and this worked too…

Edit: I can actually see from the screenshot above that the variables had an extra ) in it, like ${DRAWN)}.
