Sorry for asking this question but for some reason i am not able to change solder mask colours in 3d viewer option for colours is not there as suggested in others post. There is only option for real time rendering, ray tracing rendered and general.
First rule for every question: Be kind and inform the reader about the used kicad version. Kicad evolves over time, features get added and some UI elements are moved between windows from version to version.
Assuming you are using kicad v9.0.x:
- open the 3D-viewer and enable the right side appearance panel (View–>Show appearance manager)
- there you have two choices:
- double-click on the color-rectangle to the left of the mask-layer row - this opens the color chooser dialog and you may chosse a individual color for the mask layer in the 3D-viewer
- or use the checkbox for the physical mask color. Then you will have to define this color in the board setup–>physical stackup dialog
hi sorry for not mentioning it in the explanation i just mentioned the version no. in the topic.
I am really upset i just didn’t double click on the colours i was just trying single click and all other stuff that’s very dumb of me
