The image below shows what i see. I shows the that the footprint exists. But it does not display in the window. How do I get footprints, when they exist, display in that window.
One thread about this subject will do, you don’t need three . . .

In the PCB editor click Add a Footprint . . .
. . . select the library . . .
If there is no > next to the library (like mine) then it is empty.
Click the > and you will see the list of footprints . . . select the footprint you want and click OK
