Newbie: Copy and/or reflect a track

I’m seeing some odd behavior that is almost certainly my misunderstanding, but I’d like to know how to deal with it.

  1. I can select a track. I can copy the track and pcbnew asks me for an origin. Fair enough. However, when I got to paste, nothing happens. If I select things, and duplicate them, I get a copy that I can manipulate. But not for paste. What am I missing?

  2. I can select a track and move it. I can rotate it. And I can flip it to the other side of the board. But I can’t seem to reflect it and keep it on the same side of the board. How do I do this?

Did you get in non-selection state before pasting?

Change layer, flip, rotate.

Ayup. Huh. No, neither Copy nor Cut work for me. Looks like a bug.

I’m on OS X 10.14.6 with KiCad 5.1.5-0-10_14.

Can you take a screencast video of you copypaste problem?

What do I use to do a screencast? Remember, I am on OS X.

And I haven’t tried this on Windows or Ubuntu yet to isolate where the problem is.

“screencast osx” seems to give plenty of hits with google. I use only Linux and Windows so I can’t help more with that.
