Net not generating in PCB editor

When I try to update PCB from schematic KiCAD does not connect the pins.

In the first screenshot you can see that pin 2 of the amp is connected to pins 26 and 27 of the Adafruit.

In the second screenshot Pin 2 of the amp is not connected to anything.

Your PCB shot is not clear, but it looks like the pad 2 has a label, so there is a net on it.

Pad 2 does have a net but 26 and 27 on the adafruit does not and I don’t know why

Try at least two things: first, run the ERC and see what it tells about the pins/nets/wires. Second, zoom as close to the problematic pins or other areas as possible to see if the wires are really connected.

Have you updated the PCB with [F8] after those connections were made?
Things like this can not be diagnosed from a screenshot. It’s much easier to diagnoze if you zip up the project and post it here (It does not have to be a complete project, if it just contains those few parts it is enough).

But you have to gain some “experience” to be able to upload files (Or get bumped up a level).

I am not home so I will try this when I get home. In case I can’t figure it out on my own, what is ERC and how do I run it?

I will try F8 when I get home but this is a brand new PCB design so I think I’m already doing that when I import the components to the board editor?

But your schematic looks ok. The little squares and circles for the not connected pads and open wire ends are not present, so they are connected.

ERC can be very useful, but not everyone uses it because it throws lots of errors unless all pin types are set up correctly and you know how to use power flags. I haven’t used it for all designs but still I recommend learning it. You can always turn off the checks you don’t need. Well, even knowing what to turn off and how requires learning…

Running ERC and F8 gave a bunch of errors. I will post the logs below.

NOTE: I was already aware of these errors. I suspect that the same issue is occurring with several components. I will look into those on my own once I figure out how to fix this single connection so even though I’m posting the entire log I’m only wanting to focus on the connection between J1 pad 2 and J2 pads 26(L) and 27(R).

First of all, put no-connects on all the pins that don’t have a connection, to eliminate all those redundant warnings.
Secondly, post your schematic and layout, or at least a larger screen capture.

I don’t think I can upload the project yet but here is a larger screen capture of the schematic and layout.

At the moment, I a mguessing the problem (or a part of it) is in this part:

In KiCad any 4 character alphanumeric string can be a pin number. (think about BGA’s which often have “checkerboard” coordinates), but you have to use the same naming scheme for both the schematic symbol and the PCB footprint. I am guessing that the pin numbers do not map to the footprint properly for some reason.

I also find it suspicious that “pin 5” gets two warnings for several symbols. (At least J11, J12, J13, J14, J15, J16)

The USB ports have two Pins marked Pin 5 for ground/anchoring the pin to the board so I think that’s why each one is giving two warnings for pin 5.

I renamed Pin 26 to R and Pin 27 to L and that fixed the issue I was having. Thanks for the help! I will post if I have any further issues.

I would probably have done it the other way around. Leave the names for the names, and use “real numbers” for the pin numbers. But it’s mostly a personal preference. As long as the “pin numbers” of the schematic symbol matches with the footprint, then it works.
