And “net names” aren’t “pin names”. If someone else’s (I don’t know whose) problem was RTFM, what’s your problem?

Yes, net names are case-sentive since the first KiCad version (or to be more precise, at least since the first open source version).
Pin numbers used to be non-case sensitive, same as symbol keywords. This may have changed in the new versions, I’m not aware of it.
About google translate, the word red (plural redes) in Spanish is more network than net. In this case I guess net-name is more node-name than network-name. The Spanish word is “nodo” (“more fashion”) or nudo (more traditional).
