Negative area cutting into front copper layer

Hi,

(All images are in one image at the bottom of the page, labelled A, B C and D)

I am trying to get this small Bluetooth module that I found online manufactured. I want to remove the antenna, thus just fabricating a board with all other parts and not the antenna.

I have downloaded the Gerber file from: I Made my own Audio Bluetooth module - Hackster.io

I have opened the Gerber file in ‘Gerber Viewer’, and some of the areas are now negative areas rather than ones which are cut out in the copper layer. Below A

I then tried to convert it to a kicadpcb file, and the same areas are not being placed or cut out in the copper. Below B

And therefore, when it comes to fabricating this, the PCB looks like this: C

Rather than this: D

Obviously, the removed antenna is purposeful.

I am new to this and would appreciate some help.

I am wondering if:

It would make a difference if I printed without these negative parts, and if it does, could someone please help me to work out how to fix this?

Thank you.
