Hi. I have multiple footprints within one symbol (inductor with iron core). Since I have one mutual symbol for each footrpint is there a way to embedd datasheet for each footprint (datasheet for series of PN with same footprint) and select it during footprint selection when placing symbol on schematic. I know I can make one symbol→one footprint→one PN, but having mutual symbol is more convienent for me.
try to create and use your own database for components, so that you can set the required footprint or filter for several footprints to choose from for each component with its own partnumber
I went with “Derive from Existing Symbol” option, suits me well, however I cannot add embedded files to derieved symbol, I need to add it to symbol from which I am deriving others. Idk if this is expected bahavior, but I will open new topic on that if I will not find answer in documentation
