Move the cursos at center of a pad or move cursor at exact position

Hi,

I would like to know if there is an option that makes the PCBnew cursor to move automatically at the center of a pad if the cursor itself passes close to it (while the user is moving it manually).

Alternatively, how can I move the cursor to an exact x,y position ?
I cannot find this option and I don’t remember if it was available on old releases.

Thank you.
Regards,
s.

The cursor to the center of the pad: General settings->magnetic pads
It works when Route tracks tool is selected.

The cursor to an exact point? I think this feature is not supported. But you can move an element to a desised (x,y) position.

In 5.0 magnetic pads work also with the caliper (measurement) tool. It feels safer to use than the track tool because you can’t accidentally change anything.

There’s no way in KiCad to explicitly move cursor to some point, it always needs something to snap to. You can draw a graphic item, set it’s coordinates exactly with Properties. Then, when you select it, the cursor snaps to its location when you move over it.
