Move component only in vertical/horizontal direction

Hi, I would like to ask whether it is possible to move in Schematic editor parts only in horizontal or vertical direction (e.g. by pressing some shortcut).

This would help a lot to align parts better.

So far I looked at hotkeys in Kicad and in this forum but have not found answer.

currently the only option in the schematic editor is to use the cursor keys:

  • select something
  • press “M” for move
  • now use the 4 cursor keys to move exactly horizontal/vertical
