Hi
I’m looking for the 8255 PPI component. Any suggestions where to find?
Thomas
I imagine you’re using the 8255 because you already have some collecting dust somewhere (I’m sure I have a few somewhere). Otherwise there are better (faster/smaller/etc.) parts you could use.
In any case you will probably have to create your own component.
I’m sure you can, perhaps not through the usual channels. There’s a lot of old equipment still in use and people who repair them.
I have one in one of my Intel libraries.
intel_interface.dcm (1.9 KB, updated version 11.10.2016)

Hi all
Yes of course, for vintage computers is this a good choice … it still available on different shops … see on eBay
Thank you for the libraries!!!
Thomas
What kind of vintage computer are you building? I remember the 8080 days, my first computer was a high school science project. Used an 8080 with 256 bytes (yes bytes) of RAM, 8 LEDs for output and DIP switches for address and data inputs. Teacher had no clue what it was but it had blinking lights so I got 100% Then I used a Z80 and built a system using the S-100 bus. That one had a whopping 64K of RAM and could dual boot either TRS-DOS or CP/M. Along with the cassette tape data storage I added a couple of 8" floppy drives with a massive capacity of 360K on a single sided, double density disk. Those were the days!
