I do not think OCE can be used in version 6.0 or master branch.

I have no idea if this is correct or not, but anyone can issue a push request? Just fork the repo, push your changes to the fork, and issue a merge request using the web interface on your fork on gitlab.

Edit: I have not yet created an gitlab.com account; or if I have I forgot about it.

Once, I get a more major change I will likely create a account

An account is very good to have for many reasons. Not only to push changes but to report bugs or even just to comment in the discussion of a reported bug.
