In the layout editor, Board Setup>Design Rules>Constraints, there is a constraint in the “Copper” section that reads “Minimum via diameter”.
Judging from the icon, it seems to describe the diameter of the copper pad on which the via will be drilled. So hole-diameter + 2 * annular-ring
.
Is this what it means?
If so, follow-up… why have the constraint? As far as I can tell, it’s not something manufacturers publish. It is computed from the minimum through-hole, which is already defined, and the minimum annular ring, also already defined, so the constraint is redundant.
At least for 2-layer boards. I’m not experienced with more.
