Many type of footprint from Ultra Librarian

I have been download footprint of ic XC7A15T-1FTG256C from Ultra Librarian. Then i got 3 type of foodprint names FTG256_XIL, FTG256_XIL-M and FTG256_XIL-L. All of this have the same dimensions, what is differens? Thanks

Pretty, L and M library file

We just successfully started to import component library from a well known distributor site. Is this for different version of Kicad? Below is from another well known distributor and it is different with pretty folder and then three files inside, L and M. [digi_0] [digi_1]

You question is best asked of Ultra Librarian. Whichever you choose, make sure that footprint conforms to the manufacturers data sheet before using.

This is the key. With IC’s and components offering so many packaging options one has to scrutinize each footprint comparing it with the datasheet of the component you are planning on using.

Years ago I had many PCB’s designed by a design house. When given a project they would ALWAYS create a new footprint for every component in that design. Those footprints became part of the design. We never had issues with a footprint error that I can recall.
