Mac Install reporting as malware

I am having issues with my malware scanner reporting malware in the KiCAD installer / image.

Probably false positive. Which package do you try to install?

I don’t have a mac, and don’t want to have one, but there have been several posts about this in the last 2 months or so. So search this forum for more info.

Haven’t noticed these posts.
However as with every unsigned package, macos warns the user on “potentially harmful” content (just because it’s not signed).

This is the warning I get…

AdLoad is the name of the suspected MalWare…

Did you download it from the official website?
Virustotal reports file clean

Yes I did. It was not a mirror

So definitely false positive. What malware scanner are you using?
Typically you can also verify the hash of your download, to check if the file was not corrupted/tampered during download. Official Kicad download website however does not publish hashes for Mac downloads, so there’s no data to compare against.

I suppose there is a problem with your system, try using optimization software, it will delete all unnecessary files and optimize all processes in your computer. I have a MAC too and I can say that it’s worth to install this kind of software, it increased performance. If you want to choose something like that you should check this article and decide: https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/best-registry-cleaner-tools/ There are described a lot of cleaners for Windows but don’t worry some of these cleaners have versions for MAC
