Need some advice to connect boards to boards

Thank you for your answers. That M2 connector looks nice, I didnt know about this type to connect boards 2 boards. Soldering those things by hand seems labouring to me, and as you point out that it is somewhat a pain… Impatient as I am I continued to work out some ideas. And I think the best trade off between costs, labour and space is to use plain 2.0mm male and female connectors. The baseboard get’s a SMD male header.
