Looking for a freelancer to do a PCB layout

Hello,
Does anybody knows of any contract layout companies that work with KiCAD? Most of the companies I have reached out to or worked with in the past work with Altium.

We’re currently working on a compact, multi-layer PCB and are seeking support with the layout specifically in KiCAD. The board specifications are as follows:

  • Dimensions: 76 mm (3") x 76 mm (3")
  • 6-layer surface-mount design (potentially more, if required)
  • Mixed digital and RF signals RF bands: 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5 GHz
  • Features: Multiple antennas, UWB, and NFC (13.56 MHz)
  • Most complex component: 144-pin WLCSP with 0.35 mm pitch

If someone has any contacts or is interested please send me a DM

you could also try on KiCad discord, in the kicad-jobs thread, i have seen some post from freelancers in the past (obscured by the implicit high noise level of discord)

There is also a jobs section on the EEVblog forum, and there are websites such as “mechanical turk” which specialize in outsourcing any work that can be done remotely.

You should also specify location - KiCad users are worldwide and you may find overseas freelancers awkward for tax reasons. Your IP address is in Canada

That’s quite an advanced board, nothing that KiCAD can’t handle but I’d hazard with those specifications you need someone who knows their way around signal integrity, EMC and has worked at those frequencies too. Same with the chip, that’s likely going to need filled via in pad and that can run expensive.

It looks to me like it would have to be on something other than Chinese FR4 (which is really iffy for many reasons).

Good luck with your design folks.

I hope somebody worthwhile will contact you. If nobody does, you can post your requirement to PCBway. Meet the Winners of Kicad Design Contest - Activities - PCBway
Many expert PCB designers hang around in that forum. This platform regularly features top contributors from the KiCAD design contests and showcases advanced multi-layer and RF board designs. Given your project’s complexity — including a 6-layer SMT board, tight-pitch WLCSP, and mixed-signal routing for UWB, NFC, and multi-band RF — you’ll likely find someone capable there. The community includes both hobbyists and professionals who are familiar with advanced KiCAD workflows and constraints, and some even offer contract work or referrals. It’s one of the few forums where KiCAD is a first-class citizen, not an afterthought compared to Altium.
