Libraries not locked

I have just installed KiCad onto a laptop and form some reason the symbol libraries do not appear to be locked.
If I go in ‘symbol editor’ it will let me save a new symbol to the default libraries. My other 2 pc’s do not let me do it which I believe is correct.

I have tried read only setting the directories but that only comes up with an error when I try and save the new symbol not when I click to create it.

Anybody know if there is a setting to enable the lock so I don’t accidently save something here.

KiCad just uses your file system for the read-only attribute, so you can set then to read-only with your normal operating system functions.

Another possibility is running KiCad as Administrator, never do that
