KiCon 2020
Hello KiCad users and community members!
While we are saddened we could not have an in-person event in 2020 due to COVID 19, we are excited to announce the upcoming talks and events planned as part of KiCon 2020. We will be trying some online tools to help bring people together. This will include events spaced out over October 2020 (and possibly beyond). Let’s talk about the first event, coming up soon:
KiCon 2020 Developer Q&A
The Developer Q&A session will occur on October 3rd at 14:00 UTC. You can click here or the click image below to go to the page dedicated to the event.
Streaming
We will be streaming the Developer Q&A, but the talk will also stay online for viewing if you cannot make the scheduled time (KiCad fans are spread all over the world). We will be concurrently streaming to the following services:
Participate!
If you don’t think you’ll be able to make it, you can ask questions before the event. And we want your questions! The developers will be talking about the upcoming V6 release, but can also answer any of your questions about KiCad:
- Ask any time on Twitter using the hastag #AskKiCadV6
- Ask any time on the AskKiCadV6 Google form (can be anonymous)
- Ask your questions live during the event using the chat function on YouTube/Facebook/Periscope
- Ask your questions live during the event using the Twitter hashtag
For participating and streaming, see the event page for more info.
KiCon 2020 Community Talks
We want to hear from you! One of the best parts of KiCon last year was the wide variety of talks contributed by members of the community. These were about tools people developed, projects they were building, using KiCad professionally, building communities, and more! We really enjoyed those talks, and you can check all of them out on this KiCon 2019 YouTube Playlist.
This year, we’re obviously not in person for everyone to give talks…but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about how we’re using KiCad and share it with the world!
If you’re interested in giving a talk, please check out the Community Talks page (or click the image below) and submit a talk. We will reach out to you about when and how you will deliver it to the community. For everyone else, we will be updating the KiCon site, the KiCad YouTube channel, the KiCad User Forum, and the mailing list (sign up on the main KiCon site).
Thank you!
Thank you for being part of the community! We’re excited to bring KiCon 2020 to everyone and to hear from all of you!
