Any ideas? Thx.

Basically, the path does not exist for sure as I am on 5.99, so the path would be “C:\Users\offic\Documents\kicad\5.99\template”.
Why does Kicad2step require this path in the first place, and why is it wrong in 5.99?
Most logical cause of this is that V5.99 is nearing it’s end, which means that it’s getting time to remove that version number from path names as prequel to the release of V6.0.
I’ve also noticed myself that some “strange” things with other paths are happening. 3D models have disappeared a few times because of an environment variable pointing to the wrong location. I’m not sure what happend though because I did some re-installs of KiCad and also had to move to Js-Reynaud-nightly for V5.1.x because of a OCC library conflict.
(Edit: The official V5.1.11 is now being released, and I probably install that when it’s official announced. (The release is always before the announcement, because otherwise people start complaining that they can’t find the new version yet)
I’m guessing that it’s probably best to accept such things at the moment and let the developers make the changes needed.
But maybe I’m wrong here and it’s time to report changes in the configuration that do not work properly (yet) as bugs.
I’m with you, @paulvdh. That’s why I posted here and not in the bug tracker.
But then: why is this path needed at all? I created the directory Kicad2step wants manually and it remains empty. So this might be some left-over altogether.
Maybe I will never know …
No, we aren’t removing the version numbers from paths. in fact it will simply change to 6.0.
This is just funny debug code placed in kicad2step in the last 2 months that needs to be silenced
Solved. Message removed (7/11 nightly).
