KICAD will not let me select multi items

*KICAD will not let me select multi items and a line them anymore
if i drag mouse over multi items a pupup shows up , them does nothing
every thing worked ok before so i think, i stuffed something up

What version of Kicad and what OS?

kicad 5.1.7
Windows 10

I’m using ver 5.1.9 on a Mac and can select multiple items fine by simply left-clicking and dragging over the items I want to select. Noticed you were on 5.1.7.
Can you give us more info on what the popup shows?
